The Traditional Princess Feather Quilt

We have a beautiful museum in Lewisburg, PA called the Slifer House – an old Victorian house that is now a museum. I was asked to make a historical replica of a quilt that would have appeared in this house in the mid-19th century.   I decided to make a traditional Princess Feather quilt. It is a very typical Central PA, 19th century quilt.  The red and green color combination was very typical for this region, as is the 4-block construction, and heavy, intricate hand quilting.  It is entirely constructed by hand and took me 150 hours to complete.  It was pure joy to make.  I consider it an honour to have been given the opportunity to make and donate this quilt to the Slifer House. Last evening was the “quilt revealing” combined with a festive holiday soiree”. It remains there for all to see – come and visit!Custom quilt_Princess Feather
